Big Ivy Fourth of July

Barnardsville - Nestled back in the valley of northern Buncombe County is the community of Barnardsville and Big Ivy. Once a little town unto itself the wide spread use of automobiles has helped in connecting the community to the larger area. This has caused the little local businesses, which depended on the remoteness to the rest of the area, to decline.

 

What hasn’t declined is the spirit of community and patriotism of the Big Ivy community that keeps residents continuing their annual Fourth of July celebration each year. This year was no different as residents, businesses and churches turned out to participate in the parade followed by fun, food and swimming at the Big Ivy Community Center on Dillingham Road.
